Question KB5053598 aka March Update Problems ?

After installing the 24H2 version I noticed a perceptible slow down when starting programs. Got a really fast system, and this is the first time I noticed the "Windows loading circle" when starting a program. Most of the time I don't see it at all or just for a fraction of a second.

I did a test with my handy dandy stopwatch. I picked 5 random programs, and 4 of the 5 were now taking 3 to 3.5 seconds to respond. I Uninstalled the update, rebooted and used the same 5 programs. All 5 of them now took from 0.5 to 1 second to respond. I searched online and it seems this update is causing a multitude of problems for users.

Anyone else notice this slow down?

Look at your system's performance using Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Process Explorer (Microsoft, free).

Use all three tools but only one tool at a time.

Look for specific differences in the use of resources and the processes being run.

"Slow" vs "Fast" using the 5 programs - with and without the update.

Another thing you can do is run "dism" and "sfc /scannow". Just to look for and to fix corrupted or buggy files.
