[SOLVED] keep having to reinstall printer

Hi guys , I'm on windows 10 and have an HP printer officejet 4650, for some reason it'll work a few days and then will start get an error when i try to print and the only fix is to install the printer again. I'm having to do this every few days.

where do you get the driver from?

Is it windows update? there was a bug with windows wanting to install a HP driver on my pc every few days and update failing last month. I just paused windows update for a week and it seemed to fix itself.

i've tried it both ways from hp site and windows. Its not that it tries to update it just stops working and i'll get error state message and will have to reinstall

i thought maybe use older drivers but i wouldn't trust many of the sites that have those.

Is windows 10 up to date?

are you getting any errors about it in reliability history?
just curious as its weird windows keeps needing to install new drivers.

Any failed updates showing in windows update install history?

nothing in the reliability history and no failed updates

Look in:

HP Smart > Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Reports > Event Log
