Keep pre-built or get refund and build my own?

Hello,

I brought this pre-built PC a day or so ago, not sure if it was the right move or not though I have the option of returning it and getting my money back. However, I need advice on should I keep this or return and build my own. I really need a computer thats able to handle a few things that is work-related as such web design/development, software development, 3d modeling/rendering etc thats just the important ones. The specs of this pre-built is:

  • OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400
    RAM: 8GB (2400 roughly I think)
    MB: Dell Inc. 07PR60 (AM4)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
    Storage: 128 GB SSD + 1TB HDD

It's a Dell Inspiron 5675, I did have a custom build before so its no problem to build another if people recommend I return this and use the money to build my own. I do hope I've posted this in the right section (if I haven't then I apologize), as I'm really struggling to come to a decision what to do. So, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you don't mind going without a SSD or increasing your budget for one you can get a better CPU & more RAM for around the same price.

I have 28 days to return it for a full refund, that aside, hard drives aren't a problem as I have a Samsung ssd that has windows 10 on it already and 2 tb wd for everything else. In terms of budget it can stretch wide but not wanting the best of the best just something that can cope with what I do on a daily and a little gaming.

So I've been doing some thinking on specs and I feel I may as well just go all out on hardware, no point in cutting back on stuff so here's what I put together (feel free to give opinions and whatnot)

If anyone is able to make that any cheaper with same specs then that'd be great but it's still reasonable to me, thanks in advance.

Good build, you could go with the 550W version of that PSU if it's cheaper and a cheaper case if you need to cut costs a bit.

I can always upgrade the gpu later on, the 1060 will do to start off with. Like later on look into the 1070 or even 1080 or whatever gpu has a reasonable price tag at the time. Thanks for the reply though.
