How does yours only run at 63? when my card runs at 74-75c playing BF3..... with just clock changes. Haven't touched the voltages

I'm not too sure actually, but 63C was what I saw all the times I checked..I'll continue playing tomorrow to confirm temps and let you know :)

Here's my crysis 2 benchmark

unless I get a heck of a deal and the urge to go back to a single GPU since I made that move in my other unit,
I'm impressed with SLi N560GTX-Ti Hawks.
as long as I don't go crazy on the effective mem clock, I can run them both up past 1GHz and stay below 65C on load on MSi Afterburner.
GTX 680 can wait.

301.42 now have my full endorsement.
You mean GTX 670 right? :kaola:
To be honest though, I expected performance from the 670 but it actually blew right past my expectations; Got more than I was expecting, since I jumped from a 550Ti. :) Now I'm starting to wonder whether I'm even going to need that 2nd 670..

I hear ya bro.
I kinda did that with my AMD (975BE AM3+) unit just two months ago or so.
I went from SLi N460GTX Twin Frozr II Hawks to a single MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III PE/OC
and with the new drivers and some MSi Afterburner, I don't miss a thing except for the extra heat and power consumption.
swapping this unit out for an i5-2400 I got on sale.

now my Intel (2500K Z68) and the SLi MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawks is what's still impressive performance wise.
but after liking the swap to a single card in my other unit (less heat and power consumption) and with the GTX 6 series running Surround off single GPU.?
might be game over....
resolution: 3840 x 1024

so I'm thinking a GTX 680 is the only single GPU worth it to me.
(eBay a GTX 590 maybe but not really feeling that..)
Ohh, so you're running multiple monitors? Then yeah I'd go for the 680 then. 😛
GTX670 is like two 560Ti's with a little more performance but with the power consumption of one. --Well, at least when not overclocked. Love it.

'FXAA' enable it on my SLi unit as well.?
'global settings'
Sure, why not? It will work on any game that doesn't already offer it as an in-game option (Skyrim, for one). In those games, it will be grayed out and inaccessible, but working through the game settings. If you don't like it or it slows things down too much (which I doubt will happen), you can disable it for that game in the Program Settings tab.

FXAA = 4x MSAA, but with much less performance impact.

Why not go for the full 132% power target?

Actually, in that note, the AMD post processing AA (don't remember the name) is quite good when you don't need to read stuff, hahaha. It doesn't blurry the image itself and it gets quite a nice finish, again, if you don't need to read while playing, lol.

I haven't tested out FXAA, but I don't like the blurry-ness of games from the AA either.

Cheers!

AMD's post processing is MLAA, and it does blur, because it is a post processing, it has too. I totally agree though, MLAA has significantly less blurring than my experience with FXAA. FXAA drives me nuts, but I still prefer it over no AA of any kind.

For me the only real application for FXAA is for a game where regular AA cannot be forced, these overlays can always be forced, they also do transparent textures. Has Nvidia enhanced FXAA now that it can be forced from the control panel?

Don't the MSI Twin Frozr get in the "custom" category? At least, here in Chile, they're available just a tad higher than the Sapphire 7970 Toxic/Vapor. Both are quite the good deals in their price point IMO.

I used MLAA (thanks for reminding me the name, lol) in a few games and it was forced in the drivers... Actually, it was forced to the point where Aero had MLAA, lol. I'll test FXAA tonight on Tera Online, which is a UE3 based game, with some form of AA in-game (which I don't use).

Cheers!

Let me mention something interesting.
So I bought Splinter Cell Conviction on steam (I know its an old game), but I played the original and chaos theory years ago and really enjoyed it. Anyway, the game gets downloaded/installed and I open it. First thing I notice is a massive main menu glitch where nothing works, and the main guy is in the middle of a black screen with a random room below him. Nothing visible, controllable or seen really. Apparently is known issue. I tried everything...from cleaning temp files, virus scan, basic boot up, driver re installation..etc.

Keep in mind this is Windows 7 fully updated and un tampered. I have don't mess with the registry here or do anything other than use my applications.

So I get into my Windows 8 beta (consumer preview) and install it there...low and behold. A beta OS (which it said it did not even support), without compatibility mode, with beta drivers...it works and worked quite well.

Weird...from what I heard, people had to install into the C drive of the OS for it to work, so that could have been the entire problem. Since my windows 7 install is on a SSD, but my steam stuff is on a HDD. With windows 8, its all one big partition on the HDD.

I have a question for any of your EVGA 670 owners.

Did any of your cards come with a highflow bracket? Mine sure did and boy was I surprised. My temps are epic :)

I ordered a EVGA 670 (non SOC) the day it released expecting to find a stock bracket installed because that is what the pics on every site showed. Right when I opened the package and looked at the card I noticed the HFB!!! So glad I bought this card and I haven't had a single issue with it ^_^

so far 100mhz+ for core and memory offset.

Yeah I believe I got the HFB too 😀 I thought the same thing when I bought mine :kaola:

@Rockdpm: I played Crysis 2 on the same settings + overclock and my highest temp was 67C.

What was your fan speed set to?

I found 70% to be pretty darn quiet so I use that setting for ocing/intense games and for regular games like D3 I just use a fan profile setup :)

Next goal is to pick up another 670, but that depends on if I step up the card. 😀

I had fan speed set to auto, since I don't want to hear a loud fan blowing air while I'm surfing around YouTube and Facebook etc..I might change my fan profile to suit to my gaming, might drop the temps a tad bit, and even if it doesn't, couldn't hurt.

660(TI) won't be coming out for a while..and Nvidia hasn't even officially announced a release date..
Ouch, why's that? What's your current system?
