haha perhaps its a joke where he thinks Macs are gay... or real Men should not use ready made prissy colored macs but true blue built systems like how cars are meant to be... its like comparing the Prius over an M3, Viper, or a Mitsubishi EVo. Engines that can be tweaked, built, and chosen by real enthusiasts....

[citation][nom]godwhomismike[/nom]Since when did computer platform identify someone's sexual orientation? I'm waiting for offended homosexual Windows, Linux, or Unix users who don't want anything to do with Apple to chime in. LOL[/citation]
You got it! (see my comment above :) )

[citation][nom]godwhomismike[/nom]Also, are people that brain dead to think that just because a persons sexual orientation is gay, that they all buy particular brands of cars, computers, etc...[/citation]
Sadly, people will believe that

[citation][nom]Nossy[/nom]LOL. It's kinda funny since I found that Mac's customers are stereotypically metrosexuals or those who want to appear as a metrosexual. He should stay as Silent Bob and let Jay do all the trash talking.[/citation]

WTF is "metrosexual?"

Either you're straight, or you're gay.

[nom]Wikipedia[/nom]"Metrosexual" is a neologism of the 2000s and a portmanteau of the terms "metropolitan" and "heterosexual", generally referring to a heterosexual man (especially one living in a post-industrial, capitalist culture) with a strong concern for his appearance and/or a lifestyle that displays attributes stereotypically associated with homosexual men.
[citation][nom]alanman[/nom]Either you're straight, or you're gay.[/citation]
Wrong. There is heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality. A bisexual is someone who is attracted to both genders. This can vary to many degrees.

Sexuality is like a scale that goes from 100% straight / 0% gay to 0% straight / 100% gay and everywhere in between. A classic bisexual is 50% straight / 50% gay. I even know a guy that is 90% straight / 10% gay.

The more you know :)

Even more sadly they would be correct... its a proven fact that groups of people tend to buy things.... well in groups. Watch about 2 hours of TV on Discovery Channel and take a note of the advertisements then switch to 2 hours of Disney Channel. The advertisements are completely different for the 2 since they buy radically different products.

I say its hard to target a specific group of people based on something like sexual preference but not impossible, I suspect the means are more subtle then you may realize. Of course all this means that the advertisement was a success if you did not notice that you where being targeted.

For certain things you can target based on sexuality (dating services, commercials specific to those who are gay/straight, companies that are "gay friendly," products that are meant for one or the other, etc). It is more difficult to say this for things as generic as a car or computer though. To determine that you would need lots of polling data and even then you could not say "every gay person" as there are bound to be those who do not follow the trend. It is possible to say a majority or simply "more gay people than straight people."

[citation][nom]Silmarunya[/nom]I must say Apple is an a pretty poor condition if this is their best shot at a suitable host. Actually, he's quite right about being gay for Mac. In French and other Romance languages, a computer is male. The only problem is that this identifies every male computer user as a gay...[/citation]
Apple isn't showing up at Macworld this year either. Macworld isn't put on by them.

[citation][nom]Maxor127[/nom]lol at the dumb comments... people analyzing a stupid joke... get a life... [/citation]

The above quote leads me to believe you do not understand the definition of "irony".

[citation][nom]Maxor127[/nom]and i guess the comments about Kevin Smith is all Apple can get is supposed to be Mac bashing and therefore, Microsoft fanboyism, in which case I direct you to the Microsoft Store grand opening featuring Ashley Tisdale (I had to look her name up again because I forgot who and I'm still not sure who she is)... a D list celebrity... at least Kevin Smith has a fanbase that doesn't involve 10 year old girls... seriously... [/citation]

The FACT that you started this off with "I guess" means it is all speculative crap based on your own made up reasons to be offended about a "stupid joke".

[citation][nom]Maxor127[/nom]is this how you people act in real life because I'd imagine you must get beaten down a lot... society doesn't tolerate annoying twerps... and the anonymity of the internet lets people say the stupidest shit with no repercussions at all... in a couple years, the transition will be complete and we'll have a society of nothing but retarded fanboys with no social skills who spend all their time complaining and attacking the "competition" and sucking the dicks of whatever company they idolize[/citation]

Wow, couldn't have summed up your stance any better myself.
Just back off the MAC cock there buddy and take a "stupid joke" before someone in real life "beats you down" for being an "annoying stupid twerp".

Lol, it's not what you think. He just said it in an online conversation. He likes gay porn more than he likes guys, and vastly prefers women (but he has done one guy (and no, not me))

Jay and Silent Bob have turned up on the VH1 "We Love the 90's" series with a segment called "Guy's We'd Go Gay For". A lot of humor and situations in his film circle around the gay/not gay relationship of Jay and Bob. Take a pill people.

For those of you that at still not aware, APPLE has NOTHING to do with MACworld. This is the second year APPLE is not participating. So any comments regarding the content of the show and their choices for host etc, fall on the heads of the show promoters, not APPLE.

As for APPLE users being gay, or MACs being gay, that can only come from someone from theMS/PC side of the road. Its kinda like the MS commercials, LAME!

Just another APPLE attempt to gain some attention for MACWORLD. APPLE always bashing PC's yet they themselves license software that allows Windows to run on their newer systems.
