Keyboard and mouse Help

My keyboard nor my mouse is working! I think it's the keyboard and the mouse that died but not sure. Because when I turn on my computer it comes up perfect fine like everything is perfect. But I can even use the keyboard or mouse to save the world. But the keyboard works in safe mode and that's it but my mouse doesn't work in safe mode. So can anyone help me? PLEAEE

If possible, are you able to test the keyboard / mouse on any other machines?

No I'm sorry this is like a family computer with value able family photos and everything and I really need

USB or PS/2 mouse and keyboard? If USB, it may be something blocking your USB ports. Did you try other ports? Do you have any other USB devices you can test in those ports?

I have Windows XP. Yes I understand that it's old lol! But I really need this computer

So they are USB devices. Do they work in any other USB ports?
Check Device Manager for any warnings/errors on USB devices.
Take the keyboard and mouse to a friend's house and try them there.

The USB ports work all of them because I put stuff in them to see if it worked and it did so do you think it can just be the mouse and the keyboard just die because they're pretty old

It's possible. Rather than taking your keyboard and mouse to a friends how, have them bring theirs to your home for testing (or just drop $15 for a new keyboard/mouse combo).
