Hello, I just installed windows 7 on new pc ( first time use). When installation finished, windows prepared itself for first use.

After that, it asks me "Type user name (for example, John)" but my keyboard doesn't work.
In BIOS and on screen where I choose between safe mode and regular mode, my keyboard and mouse work.

Full specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen
GPU: none, i'm using port on motherboard
Power supply: IGMAX IG-2560 PEAK POWER 560W
RAM: DDR4 8GB 1x

What I tried:

I tried with 2.0 and 3.0 ports. When I start installing windows, I can get past language screen and partitioning etc. Both 3.0 and 2.0 work at all points before choosing name (image under)

I tried multiple windows 7 installations to make sure it it's because of iso file. Also tried Generation 1 and Generation 2 windows 7. I tried with windows 10 but when windows is preparing my pc for setup it poops up error and when I click OK it restarts

I don't really know why 2.0 and 3.0 ports work when installing windows from iso and in bios and when I install windows, when I choose between safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with cmd and regular mode but they don't work when choosing username

What could be the problem?

full system spec? windows7 might not have the driver for newer hardware

Pre built system. MB ASUS Prime A320M-K. Integrated video card with processor AMD Ryzen

You should make sure the mouse and keyboard are connected to USB 2.0 ports and not USB 3.0 (due to missing drivers in Win 7 as mentioned in the post above)

It is connected to 2.0 knowing that i have no 3.0 drivers

This is where info about full sytem specs would have been really helpful

As asked by rgd1101, could you provide details about your hardware?

If you have USB 1.0 ports, try those, otherwise you probably need a PS/2 to USB adaptor for your keyboard

I have usb ports with regular icon and with icon and SS ( blue )

If your motherboard has a PS/2 connector on the rear I/O panel, you could try using a PS/2 to USB adaptor or a PS/2 keyboard.

But I just came across your other thread which adds some details you didn't mention here, which is that your keyboard and nouse works in BIOS. That is actually quite important information.

When asking for help, I highly suggest that you provide all deetails that can be usefull when troubleshooting a certain problem

Please read more carefully. I did actually mention that they work.

I'll make sure to remember that, if you'll try to provide at least basic information next time you need assistance, preferably as much info as you can, and the things you have already tested - it makes everything easier, and a solution to the problem will be found more quickly 😉

I'm sorry for that. I edited my question with full info and with everything I tried so far.
