Question Keyboard and mouse working in bios and not windows?

Pc started crashing out of nowhere when I was playing 2k so i turned it on off and then it crashes at windows start up meaning I couldn’t enter my password so I reset windows after that it loads up but keyboard and mouse don’t work so I can enter password to access computer both keyboard and mouse work in bios and light up when pc first starts but when it’s gets to when I need to enter password lights turn off and they don’t work

Sounds like a driver issue. Are you able to login using the Onscreen Keyboard?

You may need to try different USB ports on your system as well. Those older systems often had native ports and 3rd party ports (those required additional drivers).

No the mouse doesn’t work either so I cant access on screen keyboard

Does your PC have old style PS2 ports? If so, you can attach a keyboard or mouse to that and they should work.

However, given that no ports work, you may actually have a physical problem with the motherboard.

Can you access the BIOS, before Windows starts booting?
