Good day everyone, hope you guys can help.
Laptop Specs:
HP Pavilion DV7 6101ei Notebook
Windows 10
Core i7 2630QM Processor
I recently downloaded a program which turned out to be malware. It downloaded extra programs, deactivated my anti virus and in general ruined my laptop. After windows defender removed 2 or 3 threats I restarted the system hoping that that would be the end, but when the laptop came on again my keyboard and mousepad were unresponsive, only the far right side of the keyboard worked and many keys were changed to other things.
I was able to still use a USB mouse and keyboard to run RKill and then Malwarebytes to remove the problem. Once the virus as removed, the keyboard andf mouse problem persisted.
I rolled back the mouse driver and then updated it again which seemed to help however I could not roll back the keyboard driver and it was already up to date. Troubleshooting indicated that there was nothing wrong with the keyboard.
I decided to format the laptop and reinstall windows 10 in hopes that all residual affects of the virus would be removed however the problem still persists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
