Greetings!

I'm seeking some advice on what I can do about this strange keyboard issue I'm having. When I hit the sign-in screen for Windows, I can type my credentials in fine. However, once I hit the desktop, my keyboard will not respond for a good 30 or so seconds. Additionally, after this period of no response, what I type ends up "catching up" and for the most part, displays what I typed out...like it was super delayed. My mouse does not exhibit this issue.

This has been going on for a while now, but wasn't originally an issue. I just don't recall when it started.

Windows 10 Pro
1511, Build 10586.545

Keyboard:
Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 (latest drivers)

Hi Sarver, and welcome to Tom's Hardware!

Some other process or app is interrupting your keyboard, and what you are seeing are the keystrokes stored in the buffer that are processed after the other process completes.

I'd do three things initially. First download and install the Razer drivers for windows 10, not the Microsoft drivers. In the Device manager, uninstall the present keyboard driver and then install the Razer one. Second, make sure the USB cord is plugged into a USB port attached to the PCH on the motherboard. Check your MB user manual. Not one that uses a 3rd party chip like Marvel or ASMedia.. Finally go to the Task Manager, and in the Details section, Rt Clk on your keyboard driver and choose Prioroty. If it is set to Normal or below, choose High. That way it will get a higher priority as the CPU allocated it's multitasking time. Hopefully one of those changes will solve this problem.

If not downloading Process Explorer from SysInternals and running it can show what the bully process is hogging the time.
