Hi everyone.

There's something wrong with my keyboard.

My letters are coming out scrambled or joined up - e.g. "o is lo" and "p is p-" and "l is lo". U makes a beeping sound.

I've tried uninstalling keyboard. Keyboard is set to English. I've tried FN and NumLock. What do you think, perhaps a malware thing?

Oh and the computer is Toshiba/ Windows 8.1. The problem is fairly recent.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated?

Possibly a failing or loose keyboard. What model computer are we talking about?
Ever spill anything on it? Very common when something is spilled on the keyboard for it to act this way.
If you can, check where the keyboard connects to the motherboard and reseat it (assuming you have a laptop of course).
