keyboard not working

dell inspiron 5759
keyboard not working at all. only thing that works is the back light
also hear a ticking sound when i touch keys that wasn't present before
attaching a wireless keyboard did not solve the issue
i was told it is a motherboard issue?

tried uninstalling from device manager, no changes. i can use my on screen keyboard only please help

1| Can you provide an SKU to your laptop? Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date?
2| How old is the unit? Is it yet under warranty?
3| It's possible that dirt/debris might've had a hand in causing certain keys to remain depressed.
4| You could try and use keyboard tester to see which keys are being pressed regardless of you pressing on them.
