Question Audio only comes from left side of headphones ?

For no explainable reason, my audio only comes from the left side. This morning it was fine. At first, I thought it was my headphones (I am very clumsy and do drop them often), but I tried another set of headphones I had lying around and it had the same issue.

I know it isn't the port that is the problem, as the first set of headphones use a USB port and the second set uses a headphone jack on my monitor. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in, restarting the computer, changing the balances, and updating drivers, and nothing has worked. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what was the solution?

Thank you to anyone that can help :)

Could be that you damaged the internals of the headphone whereby the wire might've come loose or detached.

Have you tried running the headset on another platform? You forgot to mention the make and model of your headphones.

what was the solution?
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. In your predicament, please include your audio equipment as well.

Just want to mention one thing - Any USB audio device have it's own separate "sound card".
Meaning, while you can conclude that audio over USB are working, it doesn't mean that the stereo jack output from the computer case are good.

He said he has the problem with both the usb and the audio jack outputs (two different headphones and outputs with the same problem). Looks like a Windows issue.

In the device manager, right click on the sound device(s) and remove it(them). Check "uninstall drivers" if you get the prompt. Then reboot, reinstall drivers if needed and see if the sound is back to normal.
