I had a minor spill on my keyboard yesterday and after cleaning it up and letting it dry i plugged it back in and everything worked fine but a few essential keys were sticking. So today i did my normal cleanup routine I removed the caps, cleaned the switches with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, and left it under the hair dryer for almost an hour. Normally for precautions sake i would let it dry for a day but i have work tomorrow and don't have a backup keyboard. My question is how long should i let it sit for?

EDIT: Left out for an extra 3 hrs works great no sticking!

Solution
Glad the keyboard is working.

Isopropyl alcohol evaporates very quickly - should not need any extra heat or blowing air source to speed the process.

For future reference suggest that you avoid using anything electrical (fan, hair dryer, etc.) around isopropyl alcohol. Very flammable.

Solution
Do NOT use a hair dryer or any other heat source near isopropyl alcohol.
You have the potential for a fire.
Secondly. Pour some on to a table top ]not varnished] or something stable. Watch as it eveporates even though in a droplet.
Next take a q tip [often used when cleaning] and smear a drop or three.
Watch it.

When you can no longer see it then it is safe.

Time it and you will find that the smear rarely lasts more than five minutes and the droplet not much longer.

Hope this helps :)

Oh by the way. Many alcohol flames are invisible to us.
