Keyboard takes hours to activate after startup

Basically, when i boot up my pc the keyboard doesnt light up at all and remains completely dead. After a few hours it'll show some drivers installing and the keyboard will work. Once its on it works even after going in to sleep or restarting, but if i shut down the problem starts again.

Already tried changing usb ports, and every other device works fine

You say you have already plugged the same printer into a different USB port, but have you tried a different keyboard altogether?

Yeah, other keyboards work fine. I'm guessing it's just worn out after years of use or something. What I dont understand is why it works after a long period of the computer being on rather than just not working at all
