I have a MSI z87-G45 MOBO running 1.50 BIOS version. The latest problem I'm having, that I can't seem to figure out is everytime my computer turns on, whether restarting or turning on from a shut down, the wired adapter stops working and in the device manager it says it cannot load the drivers for this hardware. My temporary, very annoying, fix for this is to have the windows 8.1 drivers for the killer network on a USB and install those everytime I need to. I read somewhere that they fixed this on a BIOS update, but I've has also read its really difficult to flash a BIOS and I get nervous whenever I do stuff like that. What do you guys think??

Hi,
I have the same board and have had nothing but trouble with those drivers.
I am now using a wireless card so just uni stalled them.
So i have a couple of things you can try.
1. Use the Live Updater to put the new Bios on and update all the other drivers on your PC.
http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z87G45_GAMING.html#down-utility&Win8.1 64
Just select your Operating System.
I have updated the bios from 1.5 to the new version 1.9 using this and not had a problem.
2. Buy a network card and use that instead of the killer network one on the motherboard.
Hope this helps, any questions please ask and i will try to help.

OK, so I tried updating the BIOS last night and then reinstalled the drivers, I thought it would work, but when my computer restarted at the end of the installation and I looked in the device manager it said windows couldn't load the drivers. I don't really want to use a WIFI card because I do a little bit of gaming, and I'm not sure if there are any cards that work on 8.1 at the moment, I bought one over the summer and when it didnt work the customer service guy said it doesn't work on 8.1.

Did you turn your antivirus software off like it tells you, this can effect the install. I did have it working once then updated and it stopped.
What I ended up doing in the end was downloading the driver manually from the link I posted, then go to device manager uninstall the driver. Next use the update driver option point it to where you download the driver to and install.
This should put the driver on but it won't install the killer network suit which is what i think causes the problem, it doesn't do much really any way.
Hope this helps.
