Finally, after a long research valid for the Italian market (be careful about that) , among the myriad of obsolete ODD models, except Blu-ray, I found the following:

LG-GH24NSD1

LG GH24NSC0

Asus DRW-24D5MT/BLK/B/AS

ASUS DRW-24B1ST --- NOT AVAILABLE IN THE ITALIAN MARKET

LiteOn HAS324-1

Liteon IHAS124-14

I kindly ask you to recommend among these models which is the best for:
- production quality;
- production date (market first delivery date);
- silence;
- buffer size;
- maximum operating speed;
- compatibility with win10;
- burning quality;
- ability to read old and / or damaged media;
- disk insertion and output mechanism;
- after-sales service quality (not as Samsung => really sloppy).

I hope that someone, within a short time, is able to give me an answer. Otherwise there is only great confusion, uncertain data and reviews with the most disparate( often opposite) opinions and judgements.

:??: :??::??::??::??::??::??::??::??:

PS: please, do not answer me Plextor or similar because they are definitely out of budget !

The Asus DRW-24D5MT is the fastest. I mean every dvd drive will just do what it's meant to do. They are all even cheaply made since almost nobody still uses discs. I myself have at least 50 or so optical drives laying around from older computers that were scrapped and when one breaks I just put in another one. You can just go on your used local site there and usually grab a sata dvd burner for a couple €.

What do you think about release date, silence and all the rest ?
The most recent relese is the followiing Liteon IHAS124-14

However, it seems to me that the most recent burner, released in September 2017, is the Lite-On IHAS124, the next is the Samsung SH224DB together with the Asus DRW24D5MT which are of April 2016, the Samsung SH224 of February 2016, then the LG all of 2015 and the LiteOn HAS324-1 even in 2009 ...
maybe then they were made different versions revised and updated

The dvd burner tech hasn't changed in ages. They will all be decently loud, last for about the same time and whatnot.
The difference between them is just non existent except for potential speed.

What about the noise, the biggest real buffer and the potential speed ?
Technology maybe not BUT some companies, like Samsung, gave up to the ODD production. Therefore after.sale assistance on this product is inexistent. This is where I don't want t to fall again. So Samsung excluded; LG, I hate them ... in Italy their branch is unbelievably dumb, it remains Asus and LiteON ...
I hear bad histories about Asus !!

Why is the after sales service so important? Also why is this dvd burner so important?
