Hi. Im a technician in a computer service repair . Over the time ive sold thousants of ssd .
Recently , alot of KINGSTON A400 240 GB are returning back with huge failures.
1-the ssd is working but ar very low speeds
2- controller firmware damaged
3- the ssd is working ,low speeds and some areas impossible to be read/write .

I just wanted to mention , stay away from this ssd .
I sold much more KINGSTON A400 120 gb but had no other problems with them .
These a400 240gb are really bad.

Eximo

Titan
Ambassador
On those low end models they tend to switch out the controllers and memory chips for cost optimization for various production runs. All A400 will not be created equal as you have discovered. Kind of luck which hardware you will actually end up with.

Thanks for the feedback.

Can you open them up and show us photos of the PCB? We may be able to spot the differences. The examples we see in the reviews cannot be relied upon to be representative of the market.
