each generation of ram is less power-hungry... instead of taking this advantage, they put RGB-leds on it....

To be fair, these does not consume very much power at all, when compared to the rest of the module.

Still mostly cosmetic changes though, especially for the SODIMM lineup which is just a different sticker, for all I'm seeing.
