In Windows XP Home the Device Manager list the following USB devices:

Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
VIA Rev 5 or Later USB Universal Host Controller
VIA Rev 5 or Later USB Universal Host Controller
VIA Rev 5 or Later USB Universal Host Controller

Are there two different types of USB controllers on the MB?

Regards,

Sam Holbrook

fwiw lspci gives the following here:

00:10.0 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. USB (rev 80)
00:10.1 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. USB (rev 80)
00:10.2 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. USB (rev 80)
00:10.3 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. USB 2.0 (rev 82)

The 4 back panel USB connectors are USB 1.1 (12Mbit/s) whereas the front
panel USB connectors (JUSB2 etc) are USB 2.0 (480Mbit/s).
