I'm looking for a monitor.

Initially, I was going to get a normal 1080p monitor, but now I'm starting to reconsider.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CROSSOVER-27QHD-LED-Glossy-2560x1440-27-Monitor-QHD-S-IPS-Built-in-speaker-/331237034125?pt=UK_Computing_ComputerComponents_Monitors&hash=item4d1f44088d

I found a korean monitor for dirt cheap, best of all, it's 1440p.
The only drawback was that it had 6ms response time vs 1ms on the 1080p option (I read somewhere that anything below 8ms is fine, but I'm not quite sure on that)
Also, it's korean. And it's cheap. Which means there might be compromises.

There's an option to purchase warranty for £29.99, so that should not be an issue.

Do I have the power to push those pixels? I think so, because I plan to get a GTX 980 paired with an i7 4970k and yeah, it's a new rig.

It's by CrossOver which is meant to be one of the better korean brands out there.

The Question is: Is it worth it, should I get one, and is this particular monitor any good?

Nevermind the whole Korean thing.

Check this one out, 2560x1080, Cheap, and by LG - a trusted vendor.

The resolution is a bit lower, but is this monitor any good?
For some reason, I cannot find it's response time in ms.

On one hand, most of the display panels in the world are Korean made. LG and Samsung are the two largest display panel manufacturers in the world, and both of them are Korean. For what it's worth, their display panels are excellent.

On the other hand, I've heard mixed things about cheap IPS panels. Some people love them, some people are less than thrilled. In general though even a cheap IPS panel is probably better than an equivalently priced TN panel.

Expensive IPS panels though, those can't be beat :)
