I'm doing a build later this year and have been looking at the Kraken x61 and it has some of the best cooling out of all the closed loop coolers i've seen. There are a lot of good reviews for it but also some bad ones like issues with the pump noise. But apparently it's quite and that's one of the things im looking for in a new cooler because I currently have the H80i which is very loud. If anyone has better recommendations for a CPU cooler or experience with the x61 it would be much appreciated.

Any reason for it? It looks pretty good but is it quite and it looks like it's a bit hard to get. If I were to get it do you think i could push 4.7ghz? Also would it be comptatible with the Corsair 750D.

it is the best LC out there and it isnt a CLC so u can open it later on and add a GPU waterblock if u want

also the rad is made out of cooper so it is better than the aluminum found in the X61 kraken and it is quieter as u can run the fans on a slower RPM for more performance

and if u MUST HAVE ABSOLUTE SILENCE u can get noctua fans for your whole PC

u should also check the enthoo luxe if u dont have the 750D or H440 i think these cases are a tad bit quieter than the 750D

Damn now I really want one. Problem is I can't find anywhere in Australia who sells them so far and shipping one from the US is going to cost 100 dollars shipping if you have any idea where to get one that would be awesome otherwise I might have to settle for the x61. Thanks for your help.

No one has addressed the elephant in the room; rarely is it the cooler that prohibits an overclocking goal. It is typically either user ability and experience and/or the quality and luck of the draw in components in the build.

Not every 'k' chip overclocks the same as another of the same run or same generation. A low quality power supply can cripple your OC ability. A motherboard and RAM can also be just as responsible. A lot of things have to go right for you to reach some of the higher clocks you see online.
