Last week my the HD my system files was on failed. So far I have been
unable to get back where I started.

I can install and everything if I use IDE 1 or 2 for the HD. If I use 3 or
4, the HPT controller sees the drive, but that's it. The system stalls
after it checks for floppy/cds to boot from.

It is also running a lot slower on the IDE 1 and 2 channels.

Specs: kt7a-raid. 1400 tbird. 512 mushkin ram. 100 gig IBM drive, and 100
gig WD drive.

The WD drive is no longer detected at all so I have just disconnected it
until I can solve this speed issue. That is the drive that failed.
Initially, I was able to reinstall onto that drive, but no longer.

Also, I can't seem to get DMA enable on 98 or XP.

Thanks in advance.

What mode were you using RAID in?
