I want to use my dual DP monitor setup for both work (linux) and home (windows) and I'm trying to find a KVM with a feature but I don't know what it is called.
I understand I use the KVM switches to switch both monitors to work computer, or both to home computer, but is there an option to view one monitor from my home pc and the other from my work computer at the same time? I often need to quickly reference my personal research/websites/info from my home computer for work, and this is just the easiest way . So I'd have 3 modes: 2 monitors for work, then switch to 2 monitors for my personal pc, then switch to one monitor for work and another for personal pc. And have one keyboard/mouse that I can switch separately to between work or home pc. What would this feature be called?

I set up my home office somewhat similarly. In order to manage the availability of screens, I have the following setup.
1.) 3 monitors. Left 27" 4k, Centre 27" 4k, right 24" FHD (1920 x 1080).
a.) the two 27" monitors have 1 Display port and 1 HDMI port.
b.) the 24" montior has VGA, and DVI ports. (about 10 years old now).
c.) I have an L shaped desk with opening to the left. When facing forward, my left monitor is directly in front of me, the center of the three off to my right (2 o'clock position on my desk), and the right monitor is to my right (3 o'clock position).
2.) Desktop computer with dual ports. Mine actually has 1 Display port and 1 HDMI.
3.) laptop with docking station. Docking station has 1 VGA and 2 Display ports (plus USB connections, and ethernet connection - not pertinent to this discussion).
4.) I have keyboard mouse to the front of me for my desktop, and another keyboard/mouse to the right of me for the laptop.
The left monitor is always connected to my desktop
The right monitor is always connected to my laptop. (I use VGA, but could use one of the display ports if I ever change the monitor to higher resolution).
The center monitor has one cable from my desktop (HDMI) , the other cable to the laptop (Display Port).
Then, i simply change inputs on the center monitor to meet my needs at the moment, swivelling in my desk chair to change my focus between computers.

So, I didn't use a KVM to utilize 1 keyboard/mouse for my setup. However, I am able to view the contents of one machine on two monitors, while keeping hte other computer screen available for reference.

Just one person's setup to keep working/productive.

Best of luck finding what works best for you.
