Lacie hard drive not showing up on my computer

The blue light's flickering, I've had to do a force quit and now it won't show up on my computer even after restarting a couple of times. When I last opened it, all the folders (containing photos) were empty.

How do I rescue my back up photos?

Help.

What interface are you using? USB, SATAe? It would seem to be that the computer does not recognize the device. You may need to install a driver.

Sorry, not a techie. It's attached to my Mac desktop Leopard OS for now.
