Question Lag and Distortion while gaming after almost 2 hours ?

Hi there guys... im having this problem almost for 2 months already...
When playing, the game would lag hard for some seconds and then go back to normal... sometimes im also streaming the game and this happens normally once in a 5 hours stream... usually after gaming for 1,5-2 hours, game lags and stream cuts.

I tested my internet connection for almost 3 hours and no Packets are lost and the Latency keeps the same...
Sometimes im also hearing Spotify and when this lag happens, I can hear like a distortion noise on the music at the same time. With youtube happens the same.
Drivers are up to date.

Any Idea what this could be? Thanks in advance!

what are specs of the PC?

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8x 3.60 GHz 65W
32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX schwarz 2x DIMM Kit 3000 MHz (4x 8 GB)
8 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
Mainboard ASUS PRIME X570-P
Windows and game on an M2 1tb Corsair MP600
Win 10 Home version

Playing on LAN (wired)

Let me know if theres some other info you need...

After the lag occurs and goes away, does the lag return in quicker intervals? If so, does restarting the game / computer break the cycle?

Does this happen outside of games?

No, lag does not return.
I didnt use my computer for longer periods of time outside of games, so I cant tell you... I usually use it at night just for gaming/streaming.

You say 'the game' as a singular so is it just one game? if so, which one? I know you said Spotify is affected by the lag but does the computer lock up entirely during this short period? (I can appreciate it may not be the easiest thing to determine)

I guess what I'm asking is if we know whether the freezing the game becoming unresponsive or the computer itself becoming unresponsive.

eFootball 2022 is the game im playing now... Is the only game im playing this last 6 month.
I would say that the computer is not freezing because when im streaming, I see the game lagging on one monitor and on the other I see the red square on Obs telling me that the stream is not live, but on the other hand, the video and chat on obs still work as normal and my mouse also.

After the seconds the lag takes, the game moves faster to keep up with what happened into the game.
Maybe its an internet problem, but I checked a lot and got a new modem also and dont see any problems... Maybe there is a software or something I can have running on the background that could tell me where the problem is when this maybe "spike" in the connection occurs?
I posted this on windows 10 because I thought it could be something running on my computer that does this after more than 1 hour of playing, since I think my internet is working fine...

From what you described it sounds like either your game or your internet is at fault. Likely the internet if it is causing your stream to drop but your computer to still run. Fortunately the tools needed to test are already baked into Windows 10.

Open up Command Prompt (search for CMD in your search bar) and run the command "ping 8.8.8.8 -t" without the quotations and it will run a continuous ping with Google. Do this, keep the CMD window open in the background and wait for the issue to occur and check what ping replies say.

If your internet drops out the CMD log should read 'Request timed out.' and you may possibly see replies with a high ms time too. If you see this, you have your smoking gun. 😉

Thanks for your help!. That is exactly what I did when I said I tested the internet for a period of more than 2 hours and nothing weird happened... All normal... I will test it again...
If I get high ms times or "Request timed out" on my new test, what should I do to solve it? Call the ISP provider?
If that doesnt happen like when I did the test, what should I try instead?

If the time out does occur, check your network cabling for any damage. Swap / replace any wires to test because some faults in cabling cannot be seen. Restart your network equipment like your router (and modem if you use one) too. Make sure your networking drivers are fully updated, this can be done by driving the drivers from your motherboard's support website.

Failing that, ask your ISP have a check. Come pre-armed with the tests you have already done as you can bet on your bottom dollar they'll ask you to do the above.

If you cannot see a fault with your internet perhaps try to get the issue to occur outside of eFootball 2022. If you cannot get it to happen then you may need to speak to people who within that game's community for assistance as they may be having the same issue.

Does this issue only happen when streaming?

I was checking the date of the Network driver of my motherboard and found on the last BIOS (May) this: Fix AMD fTPM issue causes random stuttering.
That is also something to test. Sounds like what is happening to me, including the audio noises... Im going to check if I have it already installed or not this afternoon...
