Hello

I recently bought a MSI Apache Pro GE70 with a Nvidia GeForce GTX970M (full specs https://www.msi.com/Laptop/ge70-2qe-apache-pro.html#hero-overview), which is supposed to be a nice gaming laptop. However, it has been very laggy, even in games like Minecraft that are not intense. I get about 4 fps in Minecraft, and Forza Motorsport is unplayable even though the game tells me my specs are high enough to play the game on high settings. My old desktop with a Nvidia GT680 can run Minecraft at a smooth 70 fps, so I expect my gaming laptop to do better. I have already tried the following:

  • ■ Restarting laptop
    ■ Restarting game
    ■ Updating drivers through Geforce experience and control panel
    ■ Disabling the on-board graphics card
    ■ Changing power settings to max performance in both nvidia, onboard, and control panel
    ■ Changing Nvidia settings to use only Nvidia GPU
    ■ Reinstalling drivers
    ■ Changing the BIOS gpu setting from dynamic to fixed
    ■ Allocating more memory to games
    ■ Adding games to the Nvidia Control panel to use certain settings
    ■ Changing game settings to the lowest
    ■ Violence on laptop
    ■ Using various game software like Razor Cortex
    ■ Setting the game to high priority in Task Manager
    ■ Made my Windows 10 computer look like windows 98
    ■ Deleting temp and prefetch files
    ■ Cleaning software
    ■ Disk cleanup

But none of them seem to work. Is there anything else I can do? Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for reading and have a good day!

I've tried using Heaven Benchmark from Unigine at maximum settings, and the average fps was about 40. The temperature stayed below 70 and I believe the score was 1000

I fixed the problem- turns out my computer is only fully active when the battery level is high. I charged it for a bit and my game fps went back to normal.
