Lag spikes while gaming

Hello,

Whenever i game on my playstation 4 and laptop i have these massive lag spikes that are mostly or 1,5 second long.
i have cable and i ot this problem for a long time and it's driving me crazy now.
my internet is great because i always have like 16 ping.
so i can't figure out what the problem is.
i checked if the switch is the problem and that isn't the case and my router is fine too.

Please help me with this.

Even if you have great ping times when your network connection is idle, your router can still have bufferbloat - the undesired latency caused when the router buffers too many packets at times of high traffic.

You can check for the presence of Bufferbloat using www.dslreports.com/speedtest. The Bufferbloat value should stay in below 50 msec nearly all the time. If it gets higher, then you can read What to do about Bufferbloat for more info

the bufferbloat is 20 ms so that's not the problem.

Yes, I agree that Bufferbloat probably isn't affecting you. I'm not sure what to recommend, so I'll leave it to the other experts here to make suggestions. Hope it gets better...
