Lagging new build

Good morning guys. I just finished building my pc yesterday , I thought I wouldnt have any lagging with the gtx 1080 8gb strix. But I mean It looks great but im still having a lot of lagging playing bf4 multiplayer. Can you guys help me? My specs are:
Maximus viii hero mobo
Viper 4 ddr4 16gb (2 x8 gb) 3400mhz
Intel i5-6400
Gtx 1080 strix 8 gb
Hdd 1tb 7200 rpms
And my internet speed is 40 mb. I barely finished so nothing is oc yet. Could it be my internet speed?

Well there's your problem...

There are actually a few questions/issue I have:

-What do you mean by "lagging", low fps or input lag or people jumping around on screen?
-The GTX1080 is not enough for 4K gaming unless you do low settings or medium.
-TVs generally don't have good input latency compared to computer monitors. That's why it's not recommended to use a TV as a monitor.

40Mb should be plenty. You could also check if you are really getting 40Mb by doing a speedtest.

What's your ping in BF4 in multiplayer?

By lagging I mean I freeze and getting stock. I switched all my settings to medium and it was the same. And im wired. I dont use wifi. I have fiber optic internet
