Lagging Of Games

Why are games like FIFA 14, NFS Most Wanted 2012 and Dragon Ball Xenoverse lagging on my laptop ? I have a i5 6200 8 GB RAM, 1 TB DDR4 Hard Disk, a 4 GB Nvidia Geforce 940MX with Windows 10 . Then why are the games lagging ?

when it comes to gaming laptops, more often than not it's heat that causes throttling

run hwinfo in the background and check cpu/gpu temps while gaming

also, what resolution is the laptop display and what settings are you running in game? (low, medium, ultra)

res = 1366 x 768
settings :- Ultra
But shouldn't atleast FIFA run in ultra settings ? Its an old game.

a quick look online and a lot of people are playing titles (some new, some older) at low-med settings to get decent performance with that GPU

The game has started working fine now on ultra settings but it lags sometimes. What can be the reason for it?

if it's fine on ultra but then starts lagging, it might be either the GPU or CPU getting too hot

WHen you're gaming, run hwinfo at the same time and check your CPU/GPU temps
