Lagging on Minecraft with a good PC

So basically im lagging on minecraft and i upgraded from a crappy laptop so i dont know how im lagging! im getting maybe 30 fps but thats with my settings super low, specs;

cpu: AMD a6 5400k trinity dual core 3.8 ghz
gpu: gtx 550 ti
ram: 8gbs
mobo: MSI A88XM GAMING FM2+ / FM2
space: 1tb hard drive

im mostly stumped because on the mojang website they gave specs for what would be good to play minecraft and mine well fit that description yet im lagging super hard on minimum settings.

i was actually thinking that was the problem, could you possibly point me in the direction of a good one for minecraft? but that wont cost me an arm and a leg haha!

but will that really affect my minecraft performance all that much? i thought i had a pretty good processer lol

The A-6 is a dual core APU, very basic processor mainly for budget everyday users.
For any sort of gaming this processor is a weak choice.

The 860K its an entry level gaming processor, so it wont run modern titles the best, but it shouldnt struggle too hard with MC.

(You may have to do a BIOS update prior to this upgrade)

The motherboard is new enough that it may not require one, you can try sticking in the new processor without one.
