LAN Bandwidth Testing

What is the best way to test the bandwidth within my LAN? I have a 10/100/1000 NIC card on my Windows 7 machine but I want to see what I am getting bandwidth wise. It seems to take too long to copy large file to my network storage device.

There are a number of tools but I have used iperf for so long that is all I remember. This is a simple linemode tool that runs entirely in memory and is tiny so it is no effected by cpu,disk or video issues.

There are some gui tools but you would have to search for them.
