LAN cable unplugged

Hello,
My computer say a local area connection is unplugged. What does it mean?

Just what it says. Your ethernet cable is unplugged -- presumably you had a connection via the cable before and the connection hasn't been deleted from Windows.

It doesn't matter, though it can be a bit annoying when the pop-up obscures something more useful on the Taskbar.
