[SOLVED] LAN gives "no valid IP configuration error"

I have an MSI- AMD Phenom 8650 motherboard with an onboard NVIDIA nForce 10/100/10000 Mbps Ethernt card. I am unable to connect to my LAN network with this card.

I get a "can't connect to unidentified network error", when I troubleshoot it returns a "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration " error.

I currently have a NETGEAR WNDA3100v2 USB wireless adaptor connected to get internet connecting through my WNDR3400v2 wirless router.

In Device Manager I show no errors device enabled and I am running the NVIDIA driver 73.0.6.0 Driver date 4/30/2009 which was downloaded directly from NVIDIA as the latest driver for the NVIDIA Ethernet adapter.

I have tried disabling IPv6, no luck.
I have tries resetting the DHCP in windows command prompt, no luck.

I can what is going wrong and I understand "why" it isn't working, but I will be a monkeys uncle if I can figure out "why" it is assigning the IP addresses it is or how to change that.

I am also noticing that the propeties button is greyed out for IPv6 on the NVIDIA nForce Ethernet card where it is accessible for the NETGEAR wireless.

When I bought the computer the guy had it running windows 10 32 bit and I am running win7 64 bit on it. He had the LAN hooked up to access the internet so as of that point the onboard LAN was functional.

I have used 7 different cat.5 cables to remove any likely chance of a bad cable.

I am noticing that for some reason no matter what cable I use I get n orange flashing light rather than the green.

As for the router I have two other computers and my phone running off the LAN ports and they are all functioning fine.

Can ayone point in a helpful direction as to getting the LAN going, some more tests, more info whatever.

Honestly it isn't all that important, I am mostly just too stubborn to give up. I am looking forward to that moment that I can say emphatically... "I WIN"...

Just manual add the ips to your adapter

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings.
3. Right-click the network adapter.
4. Click Properties.
5. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4) .
6. In the IP address field, enter the current main IP address 192.168.1.25
7. In the Subnet mask: field, enter 255.255.255.0
8. In the Default gateway: field, enter 192.168.1.1
9. In the Preferred DNS server: field, enter 192.168.1.1

To connect to the internet through our ISP one has to allow the ISP to set your IP address, as soon as you manually enter an IP you lose the ability to use internet. We use manually set IP addresses so that we can multiplay games on our network without games being able to attach to the internet.

I did go to my laptop out in the kitchen and looked at it's IP configuration and manually set this computers LAN connection similarly and I was able to see this computer with my laptop though was unable to share any information between the two computers. And this computer was unable to see my laptop computer on the "Network Map".

It turns out it was a driver issue, I just happened to receive a win7 driver disc with a new win7 dvd that I bought and I thought I would see what all was on the driver disc utility.

I popped it into this computer and in spite of having gone directly to the manufacturers site an installed the latest drivers they had, I had three newer drivers on this driver disc utility, loaded the newest driver from it and voila worked great.
