Question Laptop 80% freezes on boot, if boots works fine

The computer in question is a Dell Latitude, used by my wife and kids. Windows 10 installed before we purchased it. Worked as expected , but then it experienced rough handling and drops.

Freezes some time after passing BIOS screen . Only black on screen, no error messages. No change of condition for at least 30 min - tested several times. Turning on and off between 4 to 12 times makes it load the OC and operate normally. Trying to boot from a Flash drive produces a freeze too. I disassembled the available panels and tried to eliminate loose connections.

Any advice or pointers appreciated.

Putting the system to sleep allows waking up without issue, if the lid is left open.
