Ok
So I know this might be a somewhat daft question and as far as I know the answer is "no" however I would appreciate any help/advice/suggestions. I am looking at upgrading from my old but still decent laptop to a new machine. I would very much prefer a tower as I know enough about hardware to understand how to upgrade it, budget constraints and a few other reasons. However I have two key issues: space (there's no way I can find anywhere in my house to set up a desk) and health issues/disabilities that would make it difficult for me to comfortably sit at a desk. In addition I do need the low key portability of a laptop (being able to lay down with it, being able to sit on the sofa with it, being able to move it around the room easily etc.). I run a home business and enjoy games in my spare time. So my question is: would it be possible at all to use my old laptop as an output for a tower (mostly keyboard and screen. I use a wireless technorodent anyways and being able to find a spot for speakers is the least of my worries)? If so how would I go about it?
I can provide my old laptop specs if that would be of any use as well as the main things I use a computer for/guesstimate of what I'm after for the new machine.

Not really sure of what you want to do, but...no.

If you're wanting to use the old laptop as the screen and keyboard for a new system...there are multiple other options for a screen and keyboard.

Explaining isn't my strong suit... but I think you got the gist of it.

I'm open to suggestions. I'm just trying to figure out a peripherals setup that could work for me as the only one I've managed was...well. Giving up and sticking with a laptop. It's worth adding that my condition fluctuates and there are some days when I can only be laid down. I have tried various configurations of portable tables with a monitor and keyboard but none have been of much use so far. To make the matters worse the only place I could set up as it stands is our living room which really doesn't have space for desk and chair even if I could find one of those that works :/

thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunately I find that laptops limit my ability to upgrade without buying a completely new machine. Its the main reason I'd prefer a tower.
