Hi,

I'll be going to university soon and plan to bring my laptop. The issue is with transporting my monitor which no longer has the original box and very tricky to transport (don't know how to transport it).

So I was wondering if a monitor is even necessary to use a PC. Of course I could have tried it myself, but I don't have the right cables for it currently and don't quite want to waste money on something that doesn't work and having to return it etc.

It would also be good if anyone could suggest tips in transporting monitor and PC.

Thanks in advance!

Most laptop screen are not designed to be used as an external screen for another PC, so their ports are not display inputs.
That said, transporting a monitor for school is not as bad as it sounds, they are typically more robust than youd imagine.

I dont know how youll be traveling, but I moved to school by car and just draped my comforter from my bed over and between each monitor. Worked fine all 4 years for multiple monitors at a time.
