Laptop ASUS F550JX-dm247d how many memory slots

Hello guys ! Okay so I know that my laptop has a total of 8gb of ram and I was wondering how many slots my laptop has. I opened it and I saw this:

The memory which was there was 4gb so then I presumed that the other 4gb are soldered to the motherboard. I am thinking of upgrading my laptop`s memory so I need to know how many memory slots I have because when I opened the task manager I went to Memory and when I held the mouse on number of memory slots It shows that I have 4 slots in total from which 2 are used:

My question is is this information from the task manager TRUE or FALSE and if it`s true and there are 4 slots for ram and only 2 are used where are they physically located on my laptop ? What do I need to do ?

ASUS F550JX-dm247d is the model. It`s in the name of the thread. Brand: Asus and the model is the rest

Sorry - missed that bit. I can't see anything that tells me other than it maxes out on 8GB

I see a lot of laptops in a working day and I've never seen one with more than two RAM slots.

Are you undoing them or are you working with them only software-wise ? Because I will trust your opinion if ypu have technical experience with laptops. Personally I have only with desktop computers.

I'm an all-round PC fixer so whatever comes through the door gets done - hardware, software malware (lots) in laptops and desktops. There is not a lot of information on te Net about that model but what I did see pointed to the normal setup of two slots with four 4GB of RAM each.

If you needed more RAM for, say, gaming, Alienware can oblige in laptops or the alternative would be a PC. There are plenty of folks hereabouts who could help you sourcing the compatible parts within a budget and how to put it all together.

Isn`t replacing the 4gb memory with a 8gb memory or 12gb memory, if I am able to find, an option ?
