I have a laptop (Laptop A) running Windows XP. On the older Linksys router, it could communicate with the router and internet wirelessly just fine. Now I have a new Belkin router all set-up. Laptop A can detect this router and the network, but it cannot access the internet. When I go to connect, it sits in "Acquiring Network Address" and never changes. I am able to connect to the new router network and internet wirelessly with other laptops and mobile devices, but not with Laptop A. I ran the direct ethernet cable from the new router to the computer and the internet works fine there. It just can't get the internet though the new router. Below are some specs from the router:

Solution
Open an elevated command prompt (right click and run as admin) then type in the following and copy paste the ipconfig test file that is created on the c drive root: ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig.txt on the computer that is not connecting.

Most likely you just need to delete the old wireless network and restart to select the new wireless, even if the SSID and passkey are the same.

Solution

I evidently don't have admin controls. When I tried your solution it said that I didn't have authority (It's a work computer). I reached out to my department too but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I followed up with a request for admin privileges to try this and other methods. Don't know if this further info will lead to a possible alternative fix, but I'll let you know what I hear back from IT.
