Laptop CPU Upgrade Possible?

Hey guys, I have a Dell Inspiron N5050 with a Intel Core i3 2330m and was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade to an Intel Core I7 2640m or a Intel Core i7-3540M. I know the CPU isn't soldered.

hi, i5-2430M seems to be the highest supported.

you can check this response from DELL:

For i7 it may be due to this: "The lithography and the dimensions of both the processors is same but the Core junction temperature, Maximum TDP (Thermal design power) and the clock speed are way different and may cause system instability issues."

You can always search the datasheets of Dell to see your current motherboard's model, then search <'your motheboard' compatible cpus>. I will probably say nothing because cpu upgrades are not supported by manufacturers or if possible it will cost more than buying a new laptop
