Laptop CPU upgrade

Has anyone upgraded the CPU in their laptop?

I have a Compaq 906US which has an Athlon XP 1500+ and I am thinking
of replacing the CPU with a LOW VOLTAGE XP 2100+.

Any help appreciated.

Heard its been done.. But its too much work...better off getting a new
motherboard....
trying to accomplish the same with my presario 2100, that contains a celeron
processor...

Uh, swapping out a motherboard in a notebook is next to impossible.
