Hello

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 7610
CPU: intel i7-11800H
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 (rated 60W)
RAM: 16GB

I am new to this forums so I may not know many things, but I need help regarding diagonsing my laptop having BSOD's (DPC watchdog, IRQL not less or equal, DMA violation ,etc) whenever launching any gpu Intensive application. Hopefully it is not a dead graphics card, as it has been the same problem the last few times I have conducted an RMA on this laptop. Examples of GPU intensive application in my case is WarThunder, which works fine on low, but crashes on medium and High.

I thought it was an audio driver clash but disabling it doesn't fix the problem at all. This is the 2nd time this laptop is showing similar bevaviour as the previous one (same Dell 7610) has its graphics card fried. I tried furmark, just to confirm if it is not due to software, which instantly crashed when i tried to run it. Also, My laptop currently doesn't not have a battery as it also died a few weeks ago, so i am using my laptop without a battery.

My Dump Files (If helpful because I am not educated in analyzing dump files, if any solution can be reached).: Memory Dump

Hey there,

I'd suggest starting with sfc. Here: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/...rompt window,is complete, reboot the computer.

See if that does anything.

Are your system drivers (chipset etc) all up to date? Is your bios up to date? Is it the same plugged in as on battery power?

Uninstall the GPU driver with DDU. then reinstall it fresh.

Ideally you need to have the laptop updated to the most recent drivers so we can be sure it's not that causing the issue.

You are suggesting me solutions that I have tried millions of times, but it doesn't help at all. Also here is some information about my system, if that can be any helpful.

It seems that the battery replacement did the job. Probably the computer wasn't getting much power as 130w adapter doesn't seem enough for a 16in rtx 3060 laptop. My battery was dead and had to be replaced when i saw those BSOD's

Oh, good. Glad you got it sorted. Yes, a faulty battery could behave that way. |Most manufacturers don't split the power needs between the battery and power adaptor. My HP omen is 200w I think, so doesn't require the battery to plugged in or even in the laptop.

Good luck, and happy gaming! :)
