[SOLVED] Laptop display issue

I'm not sure why, but my laptop screen does what is shown in the picture whenever something taps on the keyboard/anywhere near the trackpad. It can be as simple as putting my phone on to it sometimes. I usually just hold the power button and restart it, then everything's fine. I'd like to know what causes this and if I'd be able to fix it if anyone could help me out. Laptop is a Dell Precision 7510

If you're lucky. The display cable is just loose. You can open it up and try to reseat it.

You could also connect the laptop to a monitor or HDTV and see if the same issue occurs on an external display.
