Hey guys,

I'n looking for a laptop. I have a nice gaming rig, but when I'm at school I need something portable to carry around to write papers and do other stuff for school. I was wondering whether or not there are any cheap, budget laptops that I could buy in the near-future. I'm not really looking at anything expensive or with top-of-the-line specs or anything, since I already have a nice rig. I just need something reliable that can last me maybe a 3-4 years.

Suggestions?

This one looks nice, it doesn't have bad specs, has a touchscreen but its only 768p and I think it should do the job. As you mentioned you already have a gaming rig and don't need something powerful.

And this one https://www.amazon.com/Ideapad-Flagship-Celeron-Dual-Core-Personal/dp/B077RGJ6S7/ref=sr_1_23?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1516373151&sr=1-23&keywords=laptop&refinements=p_36%3A2421886011 is pretty cheap and I think its nice with those specs.

I mean you can't really do anything outside of Google on a Chromebook. I think I'm going to have to cross Chromebooks off the list.

get something really sleek, slim. 13~15in screen. 1080p~2k reso. about 1kg. and no fan noise. solid keyboard. 3.5GHz 4 core. 2x4/8Gb RAM. only m.2 drives. im gonna update this once i found something like this. more than 12 hours battery life.

the laptop series below here have a $250 budget version and a $450 dollar depending on the specs. so just browse Amazon or whereever and sort it from lowest to highest.
ASUS Vivobook 14
DELL Inspiron 15
LENOVO Ideapad 320

i still have a DELL from back in my college days its now 7 years already since first year. and it hasnt slowed down one bit with an additional RAM stick upgrade along the way.
