Laptop for university

I'm looking to purchase a laptop for university that I can also use to game (Total War Rome 2 , War Thunder) but have kind of a tight budget ($1500 CDN). I also need it to last at least 5-6 hours on a single charge to go from class to class. From what I've read the Alienware 13 has a decent battery for a gaming laptop in my budget. I've also thought about the 13 inch Macbook Air with an i7, however its gaming ability is so-so at best. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
