laptop game problem

hello i have brought a new HP laptop just a week before, it is hp au134tx , it has core i5 7th gen processor 8GB RAM 1TB HDD 1080p resolution and 4 GB dedicated Nvidia 940MX DDR3 graphics. now the problem is when i play high-end games on this laptop all the games run smoothly when the charger is plugged into the laptop but as soon as i remove the charger every game starts to lag a lot.low end games are not the problem at all. i have tried all the power management options and also my laptop does not have any "intel speedstep" in it's BIOS. i have called to the customer care and the person over there told that if i want to play high-end games i will have to keep charger plugged in.Is there any solution you guys can give to my problem??

Does that mean that my laptop is defective piece? should i go for repairing or replace?

change the power settings. but it will use your battery up faster.

i already told that i have tried all the power settings but nothing has helped, is there any other solution?
