Question Laptop GPU Not Detecting Due to Mistake!!

Hi Everyone,

I have this Acer Nitro 7, the fans were making noise so I thought to replace them. I ordered the fans, but I was in a hurry and plugged the connecter in reverse (I forced it in, I know it was dumb of me to do that) the new fans got burnt and didn't work. I ordered new fans and connected them correctly. They worked fine but when I turned on the laptop the dedicated graphics Nvidia gtx 1650 doesn't detect or show anywhere. Tried every driver, software, etc. but nothing works.

I think most probably it is a motherboard issue, can anyone tell what component could it be on the motherboard so that I don't get ripped off?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Seems, from the way you've described the issue, it's highly probable that you fried the GPU circuitry on the motherboard. Might want to inspect every square inch of the motherboard for any burnt or damaged power componentry though I doubt that would solve the issue. If it's indeed a motherboard issue, that would mean the board needs replacing, which won't be cheap.

Perhaps try and use GPU-Z to see if the GPU shows up there.
