So I've been having this issue for 2 months now but decided to live with it and take a pause from gaming to focus on studying. I've been playing LoL and had spiked to 5-15 fps from 150. Support recommended CPUID HWMonitor which showed me the temp spikes. Now, the laptop has been cleaned of dust, replaced the thermal paste, the internal cooling fan has been replaced, my SSD is 50% free(if that matters...), reinstalled the Windows.....but it still heating up. What might be the issue?

Make and model laptop?

Update your post to include full laptop specs and OS information.

You mention fps but do not mention temperatures.

How are temperatures being measured and what are those actual temperatures? What temperatures are expected?

Noted CPUID HWMonitor - any other tools or utilities?

Look in Reliability History and go back two+ months. Look for some change, some error code, some warning, anything that occurred when the overheating began.

Check Resource Monitor and Task Manager: any unexpected apps, utilities, etc. running in the background (maybe started/installed) two months ago?
