Hello. On my HP Pavilion dv5 1250us, I have a AMD Turion, but it was a dual core. I didn't mind it being a dual core but I recently found a AMD Phenom II, that is quad core.
So, I took my laptop apart and after 20 minutes, I swapped the AMD Turion to the AMD Phenom II and when I turned on the laptop, the lights were on, the fan, everything. Except the screen. So, then I put on the AMD Turion and everything, including the screen turned on.
So, I went to the HP website to get a BIOS upgrade. But after the the upgrade, I took my laptop apart again, swapped the CPUs but the same thing happened again.
The computer still works with the AMD Turion but I need help to make it work with the AMD Phenom II. Please help!
The motherboard is a Quanta 3600
The old CPU is a AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile ZM-80 and the new CPU is the AMD Phenom II HMP920SGR42GM
