Laptop not booting

My hp laptop recently dropped. When I plugged it in to use it, it would not boot. It sounded like it was starting to, but stopped. The power light is showing but the hard drive light is not and the light in the middles which I think is the battery charge is blinking. How can I fix this or how do I get my files off?
It also shows the orange light when the power button is on.

to get the best reply i would put the model of your laptop and also if you just want the files off you can just plug your hard drive in a desktop.

You probably wrecked the hard drive when you dropped it. If you go in to your BIOS do you see the hdd listed under boot devices?

How do I go into BIOS?

Try removing the battery and the power cable.
Then keep pressing the power button for 60 secs.
Replug the power cable and boot up

It's still the same but the fan is working. Its not showing anything but a black screen. How do I get the files off and on to another laptop from the hard drive?

like i said it shud be a sata n if you havent f'd the drive up you should be able to take hdd out of laptop n put it in pc....
